Biography
Mr Huw studied Modern Languages at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, before becoming a professional translator. He has translated a wide range of books into English, including novels and biographies.
He has over four years’ experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language, and he relishes the opportunity to share insights about the language with students from different countries and cultures.
Experience
Mr Huw particularly enjoys teaching idioms and exploring the etymology of words that are unfamiliar to students. Having worked with French as one of his main ‘source languages’ over many years in the translation industry, he is now enjoying teaching French as well, sharing tips on pronunciation and grammar and introducing students to French literature.
Mr Huw’s interests away from teaching include sport, music and the theatre - he plays in a band and is a part-time theatre critic and amateur actor. He also enjoys creative writing and is currently working on a novella.
